Marc Jacobs in Boston

I am the BIGGEST fan of Marc Jacobs, the clothes and bags are most fashionable. The only store in Boston is located the central of the city- Newburry Street. Marc Jacobs usually offers some special items that only avaliable in the Marc Jacobs store. The price are usually affordable and the quality is good as well. However, you have to go to the store to get it. Therefore, I am so glad that there is a Marc Jacobs store in Boston.
When I walked into the store yesterday, they have the halloween decoration to fit the Halloween season. The decoration is so pretty and especial at night. You can go to check out when you are shopping on the Newburry street.

What's Going on in the South Shore? Columbus Day Weekend

Tonight, Vivid (formerly Hanabi) is opening for the first time since last year. Too Loud, who puts on an amazing show is set to rock the stage. Check it out. With two bars and a good size dance floor, this place is going to be the go to place after 10 pm. Saturday night Soul City is performing, and they are a mix of old and new, and get the crowd going every time.
Looking for a more mellow but just as fun atmosphere? Check out Frankie Ds in Kingston, Venus III in Hanson, and Bostons in Plymouth. There is an array of bands that play here, all of them are great. You can also try Bastas in Weymouth, its a young, fun crowd, but a little too Jersey Shore for this chick.
Live music, great food and a good crowd without the drive to the city? Try any of these places and let us know what you think!
Saturday, go to North River Wine and Spirits (Rt 139) for an amazing wine tasting and some free food before you head out for the night.
KNow of anything fun going on South of Boston? Feel free to leave your comments and knowledge of the go-to places!

Jillians: Mr. Under-rated

Jillians, just a few blocks from the Kenmore square& Fenway scene, is
Somehow underrated. Jillian's basically has everything you need: from 4 floors of full access bars to lcd screens to pool and ping pong matches. With four separate floors, there is typically room for everyone. And if you can't find a comfortable place at jillians, I suggest leaving town. But, that's just me.

Underwater Adventure in New England Aquarium

The New England Aquarium (NEAq) is a fun place for the whole family to visit. There will always be something there to keep everyone from kids to elders entertained. If you don’t like to go to the aquarium; there is the Simons IMAX Theatre and whale watch which both provide a great adventure also. The New England Aquarium is located at 1 Central Wharf, Boston, MA. It is one of my favorite places to visit in the summertime. The general adult ticket admission costs $21.95. This might sound a little pricey for some people but the aquarium offers a lot of discounts. College students could save a few bucks by showing a valid college I.D. The NEAq offers lots of animals waiting for you to explore. Penguin, seal, turtle, shark, jellyfish, lobster…. Whatever underwater animal you could think of, there will be a great possibility that they will have it. My all time favorite animal to watch in the aquarium are the penguins. The way how they waddle their feet will definitely bring a smile to your face.
I recommend visitors to take the public transportation to not waste money and time on parking. Be sure to bring a camera to take pictures of all the cute animals and the nearby scenery. Also some quarters and pennies to make some elongated souvenir coins. Every time I went to the aquarium I would get a few of them. It only cost 51 cents to make each elongated penny, plus in the end you will get the penny back. It is a good souvenir to get at the aquarium if you don’t want to spend too much money at getting souvenirs in the aquarium gift shop.
After visiting the aquarium, there are many nearby shopping destinations that you don’t want to miss. Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Prudential Center, Copley Place, Newbury Street…… So be sure to check The New England Aquarium out with your family and friends.

ROGER WATERS PERFORMS “THE WALL” @ TD BANKNORTH GARDEN

This past weekend, I was fortunate enough to attend the Roger Waters performance at the Garden. I have always been a big Pink Floyd fan, but have never had a chance to see this monumental production live. Needless to say, I was pumped to see this Roger Waters tour release, and with 3 shows here in Boston.

This show did not disappoint. Roger Waters, alongside a 12-piece band, played the opening song, “In the Flesh”, in the midst of an intense pyrotechnic display. The music was playing so loud throughout the Garden, that I knew this was going to be epic. The helicopters during “Another Brick in the Wall” seemed as if they were inside the venue.

Throughout the first set, the wall was built piece by piece. Some 400 plus LCD panels were assembled, each contributing to the overall video production. Accompanied by the large screen above the stage, an updated version of the original video was playing with the band. If you haven’t seen The Wall already, you really have to check it out to understand these visualizations. Check out the link below to see what I'm talking about.

The second set was incredible, with the wall fully built, and the animations in full effect. Roger plays a soulful “Comfortably Numb”, with his lead guitarist wailing on top of the wall,. Towards the end of the show, one of my favorite parts of this classic, “Run like Hell”, absolutely blew me away. (got a good recording: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCDGC6u1xHc)

And, as all good things must come to an end, the wall was broken down. This is one show I will never forget.

For more about this show, and for other tour dates, check out www.rogerwaters.com. I would also recommend reading Roger Waters explanation of this production, as it is jam packed with historical influences, political statements, and especially Mr. Waters’ past.

Saturday, October 9:

Pepper, 5:00 pm, House of Blues, Boston

Is the Greatest Bar really the greatest?

I'd have to say it’s pretty close to being the best. It's personally one of my favorite places to go on a Friday night. The Greatest bar is located at 262 Friend Street near the TD Garden. It has four floors and has three bars, one on each floor, except for the second which has a balcony like setting overlooking the first floor. There is also a great DJ who plays a great mix of music for everyone’s liking. The Greatest Bar is in a perfect location to go to before you go to a game at the Garden, or after a game. If you don't have tickets for the game, then it's also a great place to go and watch it. The first floor has a 14 foot flat screen HDTV to watch the game on. It also has 20 HDTV's located throughout the whole establishment. The Greatest bar is definitely for the younger crowd, people age 21-27. The prices are not too bad; drinks are around 7-9 dollars for a mixed drink and 4-5 for a beer. On the first floor they usually have drink specials, but it also is the most crowded, so it takes long to get a cheaper drink. The cover charge for the Greatest Bar is $10 unless you get on a guest list its $5. If you get there early enough you won’t have to pay for cover at all. Another good aspect is that they do not have a strict dress code so you can wear whatever is comfortable for you. I definitely recommend the Greatest Bar for a good and casual night out.

Sneak Peak at Vivid AABuffet

Why drive to Boston if you can get all the action of the city in Marshfield?
Vivid (formerly Hanabi) is set to open October 8th, with South Shore favorite Too Loud as the opening band.
After speaking to Moss, the bar manager, I learned that this bar is under new ownership, and has a promise that Hanabi didnt have, as well as a better reputation.
Every night of the week, something is planned out, including live bands, DJ’s, open mic night and Latin nights.
Dick 'n Jane, who have a cult like following in the area (for a reason, they are amazing), are set to play here, as well as Tigerlily and 6 Foot Sunday.
The menu has a focus on Hibachi grill, fresh sushi, and Asian cuisine.
For a $5 dollar cover and free parking, Vivid AABuffet is definitely going to be a South Shore hotspot on the weekends.
You can find Vivid at 804 Plain Street, (Rt 139) Marshfield
Opening October 8th
Check it out and let us know what you think!
