Sanctuary

Sanctuary is rated by the Improper Bostonian as Boston's best new hotspot. Sanctuary is located in the Financial District on 189 State Street in Boston. It is opened Tuesday through Saturdays from 4PM to 2AM. Sanctuary has a unique atmosphere on three levels which consist of the main level, the basement, and the second floor. If you want to dance then you should go to the basement level of the establishment since that is where most of the dancing takes place. The only downfall is its very dark and can get extremely hot. On the main and second floor there is a little bit of dancing but many people are sitting and relaxing in booths. Drinks at Sanctuary can be a little expensive running at $5 for their cheapest beer and $10 for their cheapest mixed drink. Their dress code is pretty strict as they do not allow sneakers, work boots, athletic wear, or hats. If you are not down with the uptight lounge scene then I do not suggest going to sanctuary but if you are looking for a classy relaxing night out to drink a Martini or Cosmo this is the type of place you want to be. Cover charge can be a little pricey running at $10 but if you know someone and can get on a guestlist its $5. Also I went on a rainy night and there was not that many people there so me and my two friends actually got in for free. If you are driving to sanctuary and need to park in the garage there is a $3.00 off coupon on their website.
