The Purple Shamrock is located 1 Union St Boston Ma. They are opened from 11am until 2am. They are located right on the freedom trail so during the day they have a wide variety of people stop in for lunch and dinner. Their menu consists of sandwiches, wraps, entrees, appetizers, soups and salads. I have never eaten there but their menu seems to be typical food that you can find at an Irish pub. Once it gets later into the evening The Purple Shamrock turns into a bar. On Friday and Saturday nights they have live bands or DJ's that come in and play music. I have found that when there are live bands there is less people there and it as not as fun than when there is a DJ. The cover charge for The Purple Shamrock is only $5 which isn't too bad unless you go on an off night. They do not have a strict dress code so you can wear whatever you like and are comfortable in. The crowd there varies and I have found that a lot of guys go to the bar. Also mostly college kids go there so if you are mid to late 20s I don't recommend going. The place is usually packed and you can't really move a lot which can get really annoying. There also aren’t enough bartenders so you tend to wait a long time to get a drink. I would recommend The Purple Shamrock if you want a calm night out and just want to head out for a few drinks but if you want to go out and dance I'd advise not going here because it could be a hit or miss for a good time.
